I hope that you had a fabulous Labor Day Weekend! These past 2 weeks over here have been filled to the brim with #allthethings Gorgeous weddings, back to school, the start of kids activities, house projects, and 2 weddings this past weekend. To say that I’m feeling a little bit overwhelmed would be an understatement, BUT, it always gets done!
And with that said, I am beyond exited to share Lauren and Billy’s gorgeous day with you! (and some other additional festivities to come also!)
You might remember them from their Fells Point engagement session awhile back. Billy had dropped a weight on his toe that morning, and needless to say, he was a trooper for the session. He was in PAIN.
Lauren + Billy
The first time I met Lauren, I felt like I had known her for a long time. We sat at Starbucks together chatting life and wedding, and joining together in the fact that we are both over-sharers. 🙂 She is just the sweetest, most genuine person, and I am still so incredibly honored that she and Billy (well, really just Lauren), chose me to capture this sweet chapter in their story together. She and her mom took me in like family, and I’m so grateful for their kindness and thoughtfulness through everything.
Wedding weekend started at the Sagamore Pendry Baltimore. A little pool party with the bridal party (more to come on that), rehearsal, and then rehearsal dinner at the O’s game (more of this to come also).
Lauren’s mom did not overlook one detail. I’m thinking she might need a side gig as a wedding planner. She decorated the ladies suite, and it looked beautiful! Take note of the champagne gummy bears. 🙂 Who knew?!
And a little about Lauren & Billy’s story!
How did you meet?
Billy and I met thanks to his sister-in-law Nicole. When I moved to Baltimore, I lived right next door to this fun couple and I would always see the wife in our courtyard and at the same barre classes. After a couple lady dates, I was so excited to have made such a good friend in this new city. One summer night she asked me to join her to drink some beers while she watched her friends and husband play softball, and thats the night I met Billy. They won the championship and he won my heart in a dance off in Claddaghs.
***You should see these two on the dance floor! They are the CUTEST!
How did he propose?
He pulled off the sweetest and most thoughtful surprise proposal. My parents were in town visiting and staying at the Pendry in Fells Point, a new hotel that had very quickly become our favorite date night spot.
It was a Saturday morning in late August and I decided to run to their hotel (keep in mind I hadn’t run in 2 years) because the weather was beyond nice and it would be a great way to kick off the pool day that we were going to be having there… or so I thought. My mom and I spent the morning together shopping (distracting me) then we grabbed some chairs by the pool while I waited for Billy to bring me my bathing suit from home. He finally called and asked me to come meet him in the courtyard, it wasn’t until I rounded the Trojan Horse that I saw him standing all dressed up and then my mind went “oh this is happening” and just like that barefoot, in sweaty gym clothes he proposed!
After I said yes he told me that friends and family had traveled from all over to have a surprise engagement party in 30 minutes! It was the most special way to kick off our future together!
What are you most excited about for your wedding day?
am most excited to truly marry Billy surrounded by our dearest family and friends. We have the greatest support and it means the world to have everyone come together to celebrate with us!
What do you love most about your man?
He loves me ALL the time, even when I’m hard to love… he loves me. Billy makes me laugh and allows me to be myself. He is the most patient, thoughtful, and supportive man and is always finding ways to surprise me. I know that forever with him will be the most fun and I will always feel cared for, he is my favorite person and I am so lucky he picked me.
They came in to see the room and did a dance together. This is where I think video is such a great thing to have on your day. The photos don’t do it justice how sweet this moment was and how CUTE these two are on the dance floor. Seriously. One of the cutest things I have EVER witnessed.
Lauren & Billy (& Deb) 🙂 THANK YOU so, so much for having me. I am so happy for you, and can’t wait to see what the future holds for you as a married couple!
