At the beginning of the summer the hubs and I were driving somewhere and made a quick bucket list of things we wanted to do as a family this summer.
Since we just chatted goal setting for marriage and checking in on progress, I thought it would be a good idea to revisit our summer bucket list and share some ideas in case you are a mama at home going…. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH THESE KIDS FOR THE REST OF THE SUMMER?!?!
Some days I certainly feel that way, but I’m also floored that summer is already halfway over. It can’t be. I mean… I swear school just let out.
Anywho… on to the bucket list!
And if you’ve got any great ideas, please please comment and share them! Always looking for fun (bonus points for cheap) things to do with the kids!
Summer Bucket List 2017!
- Hike/Walk on the Montour Trail
Buy and plant flowers for the house (window boxes, flower beds, etc)
- Pirates Game
Play mini golf(We even made the local newspaper!)
4th of July Fireworks
- Outdoor movie & S’mores
Washing the cars outside with the kids(there’s been a lot of squirting the cars, so…..) Pool (as much as possible)(so far so good!)
- Steelers Training Camp
- Go fishing
- Go to the Fair and/or a Hot Air Balloon Festival
- Catch Fireflies
- Go to the Drive in
Now… I personally tend to be the kind of person that makes too many lists and throws out too many ideas, but there are a few things that I wanted to do with the kids this summer since I spend the days with them. So here’s my little bucket list of daytime fun! To be fair… We were gone all of June except for the last week, and then came back to our church Vacation Bible School. So, this was actually our first REAL week of summer together, and it was only 3 days because Josh had Mon/Tues off. So we don’t have many things scratched off, YET. 🙂
Daytime Bucket List
- Cut your own flowers at Simmons Farm. (We’ve done this every year. I love it, they like it minus the bees.)
- Pick your own strawberries or blueberries…. (some kind of berry)
- Visit a Splash Park
- Picnic Lunch at the Fountain (downtown)
Casey’s Clubhouse Make popsicles
Happy Summer friends! What’s on your list?!
