Noel + John | Fells Point Engagement

These 2 cuties are getting married this September at the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, and I can’t wait! I mean… I don’t want to wish spring/summer away by any means, but this wedding is going to be such an incredible one. Noel and John are the very sweetest, and I had SUCH a great time with them for their engagement session!
They have been together for 10 years, and they couldn’t seem happier. They both wore the most incredible smiles the entire session. I say this a lot… but it’s true. I am so blessed to do what I love with such wonderful people.
So here’s a little peek of our time together walking around Patterson Park with sweet Madison (the chocolate lab) and then near Fells Point around Henderson’s Wharf. Enjoy the photos and their love story! How they met is kind of humorous, especially as a Steelers fan. You’ll have to read about it below!

How did you meet?

Her version: This is funny but John and I met at Ropewalk, a bar in Federal Hill. At first, I was talking to his friend Anthony, who is one of John’s closest friends. He’s actually from Pittsburgh and while we had a few things in common, he knew I was a big Ravens fan and that I would likely hit it off with his friend (John) who he was with. Sure enough, John and I talked the rest of the night. It didn’t hurt that he told me he too was a big Ravens fan and season ticket holder:)

His version: Noel and I met at Ropewalk Tavern in Federal Hill. I was out with a group of friends – as was she. Our group collectively started talking. She initially started talking to my friend from Pittsburgh and once she realized he was a Steelers fan, she dismissed him immediately and started talking to me and I guess the rest is history.

How did he propose?

We were in Bar Harbor, Maine. While I (Noel) had been suspicious about the weekend away, I would never have guessed based on what we were doing. We were doing some hiking in Acadia National Park and climbing some pretty big boulders and rocks. John later told me that he wrapped the ring in a receipt (!!) so that I wouldn’t notice a jewelry box.

What are you most excited about for your wedding day?

I’m most excited to be John’s wife of all things with the wedding day. If I could pick a second thing, I am truly overwhelmed and overjoyed to have all of our favorite family and friends in one place for our day. Days like that don’t happen normally and the thought of it makes me truly overjoyed and so thankful for all of those people in one room to celebrate.

What stresses you out the most about wedding planning?

That’s tough-right now, I’m a little stressed about things that in looking back will probably not be huge. Picking the right caterer, making sure the day flows well. In all honesty, I’m not stressed but more saddened that my stepdad (my dad really) won’t be there. I’ve had my share of tears about his absence for me, for my mom, for John and I as a couple.

What do you love the most about John?

In piggybacking off of my last thing about stress with the wedding, John is one of the calmest people I have ever known. I am definitely the more anxious of the two of us and he brings peace and calm to my life everyday. I love that he makes me realize what’s important and how he lets me know that I am loved.  He is one of the happiest people I have ever known.

What do you love the most about Noel?

Noel is the most caring person I have ever met. She has the biggest heart and I’m so lucky to spend the rest of my life with her.

What is your favorite date night?

We are pretty simple. We like a good dinner out or dinner and a movie together

What do you love to do together?

You can find us trying new restaurants, traveling (Italy honeymoon!), watching the Raven’s, going to the movies, playing with Madison, spending time with family and friends, out on a boat in Bowley’s Quarters, dreaming of our future, playing kickball, going to concerts, making dinner, occasionally “working out” together, and going to church (this is new for us).
